Long Distance Walks
The start point for the South West Coast Path at Minehead
We got the long distance walking bug properly in 2011 and immediately started planning an attempt on Wainwright's Coast to Coast Walk from St Bees in the west to Robin Hood's Bay in the east, a distance of 192 miles. We managed to complete the walk on 15 June 2012 and are now well and truly hooked.
There are many reasons what makes a long distance walk so enjoyable. The unpredictability of the weather, a different walk each day, meeting new people who share a common interest and of course the opportunity to eat out every night and drink real ale.
We had a break in 2013 as our dog Fudge joined the family and since then have completed The Dales Way in 2014, The Pennine Way in 2015 and the Coast to Coast for the second time in 2016.
2017 saw us undertake our greatest challenge yet - walking the 630 mile South West Coast Path. In 2018 we completed the Cleveland Way & Tabular Hills and our long distance walk in 2019 was Wainwright's Pennine Journey. In October 2020 we managed to walk The St Cuthbert's Way. In 2021 we completed The Cumbria Way and West Highland Way and in 2022 we plan to walk The Cotswold Way.
