Parking
Verge parking at the top of the Hardknott Pass (Free) - Grid Ref NY 2315 0148 (Nearest Postcode is LA20 6EQ), We parked at the very top of the pass in a space for one car only. There are lots of parking areas either side of the road near the top of the pass. Please be considerate when parking and do not use the obvious passing places as an area to park your car.
Please be aware that using both the Hardknott Pass & Wrynose Pass can be hazardous, particularly during Winter & Autumn as there are some steep sections which, if covered in snow & black ice can make driving extremely dangerous. In any case, before you travel check the weather forecast and also Cumbria Road Watch to ensure that the passes are actually open as often they are closed during inclement weather.
