Walk Description
Our first full day in the Malvern Hills therefore we drove to Great Malvern, parked in the town and walked up to Worcestershire Beacon via St Ann's Well and the Gold Mine. The weather was extremely warm therefore we left it until gone 5 o'clock before setting off. The walk starts off with a gradual ascent up to St Ann's Well and from there we turned towards Lower Wyche and the Gold Mine. There was once a Gold Mine on the spot but the amount of gold found was ridiculously low. From the Mine we headed over Summer Hill to the summit of Worcestershire Beacon where there is a Trig Point and a commemorative direction point.
From the Beacon the walk is delightful and meanders along grassy paths that can take you in all directions although there are plenty of signs to show you the way. We walked up Table Hill and traversed around North Hill before joining up with Lady Howard de Walden Drive which ultimately meets the path back down to St Ann's Well and the finish.
