Northumberland Coast Path 2024 - Itinerary
The map of the route
Itinerary
When we started planning this walk we had several options reference accommodation but in the end decided to utilise our Caravan. Having scoured the internet for various sites along the route we plumped for South Meadows Caravan Park in Belford. The site is a few hundred yards from the village and was virtually bang on the route itself. This meant we could utilise the excellent bus service for the most part which would enable us to get up and down the coast to the various daily start & finishing points without too much of a logistical challenge.
Basing ourselves in Belford also gave us flexibility with inclement weather. We had plenty of spare days therefore if the conditions were poor we could always postpone that days walking and do it another day. In the end we only had to postpone one days walking because of the weather, such was our luck with the conditions during the walk.
Therefore our itinerary would be as follows:

Our Charity
As with most of our long distance walks, we intended to try and raise as much money as we could for Spaniel Aid. This wonderful Charity is run completely by volunteers who own Spaniels themselves. They aim to advise owners of the dangers with advertising dogs on internet selling sites and to take into their care any dogs whose welfare concerns them. They have become increasingly concerned by the number of these wonderful dogs being offered for sale – or worse. Spaniel Aid place dogs into foster care and then assess them for rehoming to suitable “forever” homes thus giving many dogs a second chance. They need every penny they can get in order to provide this wonderful service.
