Day 5 - Sunday 10 June 2018
Rest Day in Saltburn
Rest Days can be a good thing and sometimes a bad thing - however when you are carrying all your own gear as we found out walking the South West Coast Path last year they can be extremely welcome. Today was no exception. We are members of a Cocker Spaniel Facebook group and had coincided our rest day to meet up with members of the group in Saltburn - plus all their lovely Cocker Spaniels of course.
As rest days go this was extremely enjoyable - it was great to meet both the pooches and their owners. On completion of the meet we returned to Runswick Bay and had a late lunch in the lovely Cliffemount and then popped in to our hotel for a quick drink. Unfortunately the main bar was occupied by the hotel's "Drunk in Residence" who made it plainly clear he wanted to spoil our evening by talking at us very loudly therefore we supped up and left him to it - he probably barely noticed we left he was that pissed.
Anyway enough of that - a quiet night in, admin sort out then bed.
